We loved the Santa Teresa neighborhood!!
Okay the cab situation getting back is less than ideal because they either don't want to go up there or try and overcharge you. They really need to get the trolly back because the bus can rather scarey. We loved walking around the neighborhood, uphill, downhill, cobblestone streets, houses of all different architectures, age and styles. Let me walk you through the neighborhood, starting with a lovely little cobblestone street, where we stayed.
Around the corner was this lovely house. It's harder to see in the daylight but each window pane is a different color, so lovely at night.
A little gate that I fell in love with, don't you wonder what is behind it?
I think this house has a little craftsman in it's design.
In Rio, graffiti is everywhere but most of it is beautiful or entertaining like this little piece.
Major crossroads in Santa Teresa, used to be the trolly station, I think.
You never know who or what you will see walking up or down the streets of Santa Teresa.
A view of Rio below from one of the streets that opens up, the neighborhood set up into the mountain.
A view across the street where it opens up.
We loved the workmanship and the wood on this house.
It wouldn't be a neighborhood in Rio without at least 1 picture of a church. :)
